from Italy, France, Belgium, China, Spain, Chile,
Turkey, Korea, Portugal, Taiwan, Indonesia, India,
Thailand, United States and Mexico, as well as
professional visitors from 25 countries. There
were also business missions from Guatemala,
Colombia, Spain and Poland, so as to have a
broader view of the market and make direct
contact with manufacturers.
Alimentaria Brazil
The first edition of Alimentaria Brazil took place
from the 16th to the 19th of September at Parc
Anhembi in São Paulo, simultaneously with
Equipotel, the largest hostelry and gastronomy
fair in Latin America, which undoubtedly promotes
synergies between both shows. Organised by
Alimentaria Exhibitions and Reed Exhibitions
Alcantara Machado, it received the support of the
main professional entities of the sector in Brazil.
More than 70 exhibitors presenting more than
167 brands took part in the event; it received
professional visitors from Japan, USA, Italy,
Argentina, Peru, Uruguay, Portugal, Costa Rica,
France and Finland; and there were professional
meetings, business rounds, and several other
activities, like «Chefs na rua».
Brazil is a priority destination and a great
opportunity for the Spanish agri-food industry,
whose sales in that country were a 30% higher in
2011 than the previous year, reaching 107 million
euros, according to the Federation of Food and
Beverages Industries (FIAB).
Green Bridge 2013, Kazakhstan
At the request of the government of Kazakhstan,
and as a preparation for the Universal Exhibition
of Astana in 2017, Fira de Barcelona provided
counselling for the development of the programme,
the seminars and the selection of international
speakers for the Green Bridge conference, held
from September 30th to October 2nd.
The event received the support of the UN
through its Development Program, and gathered
