Throughout 2013, Fira de Barcelona continued
developing its international strategy, which
consists not only in attracting major international
events to its venues, along with exhibitors
and visitors, but also in hosting shows
and events abroad, as well as in making available
to other trade organizations its experience,
organizational capacity and technological
development.
The Barcelona trade fair institution plays its role
as interlocutor and ally of companies, in order
to help them to promote their exports strategy
and their presence in other markets.
Piscina Moscow
Organised by Fira de Barcelona and Europexpo,
Piscina Moscow was hosted from March
12th-14th at the International Expocentre,
and contributed to open the doors of this
market to exhibiting companies, Spanish and
from other countries, which remarked the
dynamism of the sector of swimming pools
in Russia, as well as the quantity and quality
of the contacts made.
The Russian market, in full expansion due to the
growth of the middle classes and the development
of the real estate sector, does not have major
domestic manufacturers, which represents a
unique opportunity for international companies
to earn new customers.
Piscina Moscow was simultaneously held with
two other shows from similar sectors, Climate
World Moscow, devoted to heating, cooling and
air conditioning, and Garden Tool, specialised in
gardening tools. It received the support of the
main associations of the sector, like the Russian
Builders Association, the Spa and Wellness
International Council (SWIC) and the Russian
Waterpark Association.
Hostelco at Hotelex Shanghai
Fira de Barcelona promoted the presence of
exhibiting companies from its Hostelco event in
the 22nd event of Hotelex, which took place from
the 1st to the 3rd of April 2013 at the Shanghai
New International Expo Centre, SNIEC.
It is one of the leading fairs devoted to hotel
equipment, with a high innovative rate and a
growing concern for sustainability, offering a
possibility to enter the emerging Chinese market.
