granted a new
organizational model
to respond to market
requirements

of the services given in 2013.
Towards a new organization
In 2013, one of the main contributions of the
Area of Human Resources and Organization was
towards the reorganizational process started by
Fira’s Management in order to respond to new
market demands. Three business areas were
identified: Own, External and International.
The main goal of this new organization is to give
more autonomy to each area, with responsibility
over its own strategy and its income account.
Each of them has exclusively-devoted resources
and broad functions to cover all the value chain.
In the case of Own Businesses, six business units
were defined, each of them focalised on one
specific sector or market: industrial technology
and packaging; sustainability and infrastructure;
food; hostelry and home; life sciences and
chemistry, and events for the general public
and festivals.
In order to implement this new organizational
model, a new project called «Growing» was
started, with more than 80 participants from
