GastroFira increased
in 2013 it ability to host
major events and to
respond to specific diets
and gastronomic needs
visitors, as well as different services: lead retrieval,
which allows to capture and monitor the contacts
made during the show or the congress, as well as
networking for visitors and exhibitors, maps and
geo-location inside the venue.
As for personalised attention to exhibitors and
visitors, more than 53,000 phone calls were
answered.
Significant gastronomic offer
In addition to managing the restaurants in
the Montjuïc and Gran Via venues, in 2013
the restaurant services at Fira de Barcelona,
GastroFira, did a great job to offer efficient
service in the great events and congresses.
Besides Mobile World Congress, other
medical and technological events with a great
catering demand were hosted, which led to
signing more than 4,900 temporary contracts
for catering staff.
The welcome party of HP Discover was remarkably
complex, and GastroFira relied on the collaboration
of eight renowned catering companies from
Barcelona, which helped to break a historical
record by serving the same dishes to 10,000
diners at the same time.
The following figures will give an idea of the
amount of work carried out by this department:
over 2013 they served more than a million cups
of coffee and 250,000 litres of water, and their
trucks drove more than 23,000 km, a spectacular
reference bearing in mind that they serve only to
the Montjuïc and Gran Via venues.
As part of the continuous improvement of
their service, GastroFira added to their team
a department of nutrition, in order to control
more exhaustively special diets and tailor-made
gastronomic offers, which increased significantly
in 2013.
They also continued working to provide top
quality and full hygiene guarantees, both in the
restaurants at the venues and in the catering
services, which received high ratings from visitors:
7,6 over 10.
Nuclo restaurant was again the benchmark
in the area for business costumers, due to its
offer of market cuisine and its value for money,
while Nuclo Catering continued to grow as
a Premium service offered to event organizers
inside the venue.
GastroFira delivered more than two tonnes of
food to the non-governmental organization
