National Trade Fair for Taxi Professionals

Companies in the industry, commerce and
services related to the taxi gathered at the latest
Barcelona event of the most important show
of the sector, which receives the support of the
main professional organizations, Barcelona City
Council, the Government of Catalonia and the
Taxi Metropolitan Institute. This public entity,
and others like STAX and Taxi Companys, had
their own stand.
Worthy of special mention for this event
was the more significant representation of car
brands authorised to provide taxi services in the
Barcelona Metropolitan Area, including the latest
7-seater models and alternative fuel vehicles.
Among the participating brands were Fiat,
Volkswagen, Renault, Toyota and Peugeot.
Also significant was the presence of
companies promoting new mobile apps, which are
successfully entering the sector to improve the
interaction between driver and costumer, and
the efficiency of radio taxi services.
The Taxi Show hosted technical seminars
supported by Mutual de Conductores, featuring
special discussions on healthy habits for taxi
drivers by Roberto Navarro and Dr. Eduard Estivill,
who covered the topic of drowsy driving. As
always, an especially hot topic was the subject of
work hours regulation.
A Cuban delegation invited by STAC visited the
event, so that Cuban drivers could see how the
sector works in Barcelona before facing
the structural changes that the Caribbean country
is planning to undergo.
