REPORT
Barcelona Meeting Point
International Real Estate Show
23-27/October
Montjuïc. 17th event
2013 was a turning point for the real estate
sector, and, according to the organisers of
Barcelona Meeting Point, this year’s event
confirmed the signs that indicated the beginning
of economic recovery in Spain.
The event of 2013 was a success in
attendance and sales, due to the price
adjustments made by the exhibitors, and to
the growing interest in investment in Spain.
Also noteworthy was the high level of the
commercial transactions, as compared with
previous editions.
As usual, Barcelona Meeting Point centred
around the Professional and General Attendance
Exhibitions, and the Symposium, the great debate
forum that brought together 2,500 participants
and 91 speakers, as well as representatives of
the Administration, bank entities and real estate
companies. More than 30 investment funds took
part in the show, which welcomed 25% of highly
qualified professional visitors.
One of the most relevant aspects was the
presence of 400 Chinese investors and real estate
agents interested in the opportunities offered
by the Spanish market who gathered at the first
China Meeting Point. A similar number of Russian
visitors took part in the 5th Russian Meeting
Point, which hosted authorities, business owners,
investors and real estate agents from Russia.
Barcelona Meeting Point 2013 was
inaugurated by Luis de Guindos, Spanish Minister
of Economy and Competitiveness, and was
visited by Ana Pastor, Spanish Minister of
Equipment, among other local, regional and
national authorities.
