International Dental Forum

After 14 years of existence and seven events
hosted by the company Puntex, the 2013
event of Forum Dental was organised by Fira
de Barcelona.
The event brought together in one venue
around 150 companies specialized in equipment
for dental clinics. It also hosted the European
Dental Forum, with 50 speakers and more
than a thousand participants, including dentists,
hygienists and speech therapists and dental
technicians, presenting from a multidisciplinary
perspective the latest developments in the field
of dentistry in the 21st century.
Specialists communicated the results of recent
research, as well as the applications of innovative
technologies such as, for instance, the use of
implants developed from the patient’s stem cells,
the new treatment for periimplantitis and other
maxillofacial inflammations, together with the
new diagnosis techniques based on the latest
CAD/CAM systems.
Exhibitors showcased a wide range of products;
from the most classic –yet newest generation–
recliner chairs to high-precision scanners
producing diagnoses by computerized image.
The professionals participating at Forum Dental
came mostly from Catalonia, followed by Valencia
and Madrid, but there was also a significant
international attendance from Italy, Portugal,
France, Andorra, Germany, Bolivia, Switzerland
and Venezuela.
The event was organised in cooperation
with the official colleges of Dentists, Dental
Technicians, Speech Therapists and Hygienists,
and Dental Assistants of Catalonia.
