Chinese universities
is gaining ground and has replaced French as
a preferred language to study abroad.
The demand of courses to study in Germany is
around 10%, which means an increase of 3%-4%,
according to promoters of courses abroad. Over
the last years, there has also been a growing
interest to learn other languages like Chinese,
Japanese and Russian.
In Futura, the Masters and Postgraduate
Courses Exhibition, business schools, continued
training schools and professional colleges
presented the newest second and third cycle
programmes currently being taught in Spain
and abroad. Visitors were mainly interested in
biomedicine, telecommunications, engineering,
education and health sciences.
Trends in the labour market
Futura offered a wide programme of conferences
and workshops to present the latest trends in the
domestic and foreign labour market. In relation to
this, the show hosted again the Jobs Forum with
the collaboration of Barcelona Activa.
Many of the participants were young last year
undergraduate students interested in finding
out how to combine a future academic
specialization with an active job search. Likewise,
information sessions in Futura were widely
followed, like the one by the InfoJobs website,
about job-seeking abroad, which was attended
by a hundred people.
