One more year, Fira de Barcelona consolidates
itself as a strategic tool for the revitalization
of Catalan economy. Fira's essence is gather
in a single space both supply and demand, the
outreach of new products and leadership on a
global scale, a key element in the process of
supporting companies, their internationalization
and promoting innovation.
The economic figures of Fira de Barcelona, with
a turnover of more than 117 million euros, are
the result of an intense work distinguished by
its quality; each of the different trade shows,
congresses and outreach activities make of the
institution a driving force for the Catalan economy.
Throughout 2013, Fira has hosted shows like
the Mobile World Congress, the Barcelona
International Motor Show, Smart City Expo,
Construmat, Piscina, the Barcelona International
Boat Show, SITC, Bizbarcelona, MlHealth,
graphispag.digital, Manga and EIBTM, among
others; relevant medical and technological
congresses and a wide agenda of foreign activity
by the various Fira shows participating
in international fairs, offering Catalan companies
the chance to go abroad.
The organization and consolidation of the
Barcelona Mobile World Congress is one of the
most renowned activities of Fira de Barcelona.
Its leadership goes beyond organising the
congress, since its implication in the promotion
and management of the Mobile World Capital
Barcelona Foundation will be crucial to turn
Barcelona and Catalonia into a world benchmark
in the development of mobile applications
and technologies and the revitalization of the
ICT sector.
